Back Into The Swing Of Things
The last bunch of weeks have been crazy. We left January 1st for Thailand where we spent two weeks there. There is lots to share. Plenty of pictures, video and all that good stuff. From there a few of us went to the Young Pastors Time Out in Niagara Falls. So it’s been crazy and today feels like the first normal day in over a month.
There’s a few things I’m excited about. EMG was great last night, even in a snow storm. Our Winter Camps are coming up for EMG, Aaron and Rachel are coming and the Super Bowl is only a couple weeks away. I’m also excited about this Sunday night. I’m gonna be sharing at church but it will be an interactive message that incorporates the film documentary Invisible Children. It will be fun.
Through our time in Thailand we really grew as a team. There was 6 of us represented and we asked ourselves a number of questions throughout our mission. We went through a study to prepare ourselves to come home. In that study it gave a number of questions to ask yourself as you prepare to return. Personally, I think they’re great questions for every follower of Christ.
The Eight Great Questions
1) Who am I? What have I learned about myself?
2) Who is God. How has my understanding of God changed?
3) Who are we? What have I learned about community?
4) What is the impact of culture on faith? How do I see life and the gospel differently because of what I’ve experienced.
5) What’s wrong with the world. Why is there such suffering and injustice in it?
6) What does it mean to be a follower of Christ? What have I learned about discipleship?
7) What’s of value? How do I live here in light of what I’ve seen there?
8) Where am I going? What is God calling me to be and to do as a result of this experience?
Thailand Countdown
It’s hard to believe that in just over 5 weeks we will be on a plane to Thailand! Times flies. We leave for Thailand January 1st. You will be able to follow our trip on this blog. I will have different team members log in while we are away.
We’ve also booked our Winter Camps for 2008.
Our High School Camp (Access) will be Febraury 8,9,10 and our Jr High Camp (Amp’d) will be February 22 and 23.
There are great times ahead! That’s all I got for now…
